چکیده
INTRODUCTION: Various endogenous and exogenous processes contribute to the production of oxidative stress, which anticancer drugs may be one. This study aimed at evaluating effect breast cancer chemotherapy on stress. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Oxidative markers antioxidant defense molecules were monitored in 59 women undergoing a year treatment for cancer. RESULTS: During treatment, levels vitamin C glutathione decreased, while both malondialdehyde protein carbonyl products increased. Vitamin E affected smaller extent. The patients grouped by principal component analysis using their stress pro?les according time 95.9% total variance was explained first three components. CONCLUSION: pro?le population modified extensively during one exposure antineoplastic drugs.

abstract background: the chemotherapeutic agents used for treatment of breast cancer are all shown to increase free oxygen radicals and generation of reactive oxygen species. the aim of this study was to evaluate effect of chemotherapy on plasma selenium (se) concentration and glutathione peroxidase (gpx) activity in breast cancer patients. materials and methods: seventeen women in stage ii and...
متن کاملThe status of antioxidants, malondialdehyde and some trace elements in serum of patients with breast cancer
Background: There are studies that indicated dyshomeostasis of oxidant/antioxidant and trace elements in breast cancer patients, but the data regarding the status of these parameters in various stages of breast cancer are limited. The aim of this study was to highlight the status of these biochemical factors in various stages of breast cancer. Methods: Fifty-eight breast cancers patients par...
متن کاملThe effect of resistance training on malondialdehyde and protein carbonyl concentration in the heart tissue of rats exposed to stanozolol
Introduction: Consumption of anabolic steroids causes damage to various tissues, including the heart. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of resistance training (RT) on malondialdehyde (MDA) and protein carbonyl (PC) in the heart tissue of rats exposed to stanozolol (S). Methods: In this experimental study, 18 rats with mean age of 8 weeks and weight range of 150 to 200 g were ...
متن کاملAlterations in serum levels of trace element in patients with breast cancer before and after chemotherapy
Background: Breast cancer is the most common serious disease around the world. The trace elements have a vital role in the metabolism and chemotherapy may change the level of metal ions. Due to the ambiguity of the existence in this regard, the study examined the trace element serum levels in women with breast cancer before and after chemotherapy . Methods: Sixty patients were studied undergoi...
